Brief Summary
Wilbur is a naked mole rat who likes to wear clothes. Every other naked mole rat in his colony thinks it is silly that Wilbur likes to wear clothes yet Wilbur feels like he can be anything when he dresses up. One day the leader of the colony Grand-Pah decides to wear clothes because he thinks Wilbur has great ideas. All the others in the colony see that Wilbur's idea of wearing clothes isn't so bad so they start to wear clothes as well. They are can be unique now!

I enjoyed this book a lot and I think children would too because just the irony of the title is fun for children. It would be a helpful book in a classroom if you were teaching about being kind to others and not judging others by their actions because someday, you could be following those actions too.
Literary Elements
1. Irony - The title of this book is just irony itself. Saying something that means the opposite is always fun for students to think about. If I were to have a lesson on irony, I would use this book to show how the idea of a naked mole rat wearing clothes is just ironic. It is opposites. Students could use their knowledge of irony to create their own storylines or titles that are ironic.
2. Personification - An animal talking is an example of personification in this book.
3. Dialect - There are parts of this story where the leader of the colony is talking and he makes it sound like he belongs to a kingdom with the way that he speaks. For example, Wilbur says that Grand-Pah is going to be "making a proclamation." The dialect is different that normal English and it shows how the language could be from a different place.
